About the role
The ideal Sales Engineer needs to possess technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a track record in designing and/or selling complex enterprise solutions. This role designing and proposing solutions to meet customer requirements, and delivering compelling presentations and demos.
A key element of the Stanchion strategy is to introduce and deliver our digital product offering into the global market. The main purpose of the Sales Engineering role is to bridge the gap between the technical and sales departments in the company. A combination of technical and strategic sales skills is needed to successfully communicate the Stanchion value proposition and persuade prospects to adopt the Stanchion product portfolio as a key functional building block of their enterprise digital payments architecture. Stanchion is searching for such a Sales Engineer to expand our Verto, SwitchCare, Professional Services and Partner product offering.
Your typical day as Stanchions Sales Engineer
- Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles
- Support sales executives with solution selling into prospect and existing account base
- Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity
- Support multiple regions with their sales processes as a technical pre-sales resource
- Proactively become a subject matter expert on Stanchion’s products and services
- Create and propose solutions to successfully meet customer pain points/requirements
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
- Engage with Marketing in the creation and constant improvement of sales collateral (slides, brochures, website, etc.)
- Manage all technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses
- Maintain a high level of knowledge in a broad range of technologies relevant to the industry to support the ideation phases of the Verto product life cycle
- Collect, document, and share competitive, market, and industry intelligence
- Formally feed information and data back to internal teams in a structured and relevant manner
- Effectively communicate client needs to the Product team for future product enhancements
Your Qualifications
Required qualifications/experience:
- Honours Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
- 5 – 7 years’ experience in the Card Payments industry
- In-depth knowledge of Card Payments industry products
- Understanding of FinTech, Banking, and Retail sectors
Preferred qualifications/experience:
- 5 – 7 years as a Payments Subject Matter Expert
- Previous experience in a Sales Engineer role and/or business consulting experience
- Advanced knowledge of APIs
- Experienced coding, preferably in Java
